A magnificent effort by Chevas Numata carried the Santa Fe Fuego (30-17) to an 11-4 win over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (21-33) on Friday at Fort Marcy Park.
Numata hit three home runs for the Santa Fe Fuego. Numata went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Numata homered in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings.
The Santa Fe Fuego turned the win into a rout with four runs in the seventh.
Alex Teal picked up the win for the Santa Fe Fuego. Teal allowed two earned runs, eight hits and three walks while striking out six over nine innings of work.
Kyal Williams reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.
Casey Hood (3-6) took the loss for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out two.
